"We are looking at the year 2030. From now on, Porsche will only build electrified cars, announces Porsche CEO Oliver Blume eight years earlier. And at the same time, Porsche Supervisory Board Chairman Wolfgang Porsche predicts: "The 911 will be the last Porsche with a combustion engine to come off the production line. Will the Zuffenhausen-based company discontinue the legendary 911 in 2030? No, we don"t believe so. What should not be, will not happen."

The currently widest 911 swells to 190 cm at the rear. Its rear engine provides a sonorous, yet subtly restrained background to the driving action."

"It only gains acoustic presence at motorway speeds when we switch to manual mode and allow revs above 4,000 revs. Now two huge turbochargers with variable blade geometry inject the six-cylinder boxer with the life that ennobles the Turbo S as the king of the motorway. To put it in perspective: from a standstill, the Turbo S sprints to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, and 200 km/h takes no more than 8.9 seconds. It"s enough to make you salivate!"

"The extreme versatility of the Porsche 911 is represented by a two-seater that seems absurd at first glance: the 911 as an off-road vehicle. It is supposed to be reminiscent of the 911 Carrera 3.2 (known internally as 953) with switchable all wheel drive, which three works drivers drove through Africa in 1984 for the Paris-Dakar Rally and won the team classification. In his honor, the new desert-suited 911 based on the 992 is called "911 Dakar". Porsche Marketing hopes that it will awaken a spirit of adventure in everyday civilization. We think that the higher body makes it easier for older customers to get into the 911, and we see this as a good cause."

"The permanent all-wheeler is technically based on the 911 GTS, offers ground clearance increased by 50 mm to 161 mm, wears wheel arch linings made of black plastic and rally battle paint on request. 911 Carrera T

"In our search for the ideal Porsche 911 for everyday use with sharpened muscles, we come across the 911 T, a weight-reduced basic 911 with a 370 hp 3.0-litre biturbo boxer, manual gearbox with shortened transmission, rear-wheel drive with mechanical cross-lock and a 20 mm lowered body. Rear-axle steering is also available as an option, providing an additional contribution to increased agility. The Carrera T is an entertaining toy, not gruff, but very direct."

"Those who want to take on even more of a driving challenge will find a cream puff at the top of the current 911 price scale that challenges the real guy, the 911 S/T, limited to 1,963 units. The two-seater with roll cage, which is suitable for experienced gentlemen drivers, comes as a weight-optimized 911 GT3 with touring package. The rear-wheel drive car draws its exclusivity from the uniquely direct response of the 525 hp 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with shortened seven-speed manual gearbox and newly developed lightweight clutch. In combination with a single-mass flywheel that reduces the rotating masses by 10.5 kilos, the driver reaps the highest level of spontaneity of an 911 to date in the face of driving commands. The S/T"s direct response to the throttle is indescribable! The slightest change of throttle is immediately implemented. The driver is required to pay the utmost attention."

"Finally, we take another look at the year 2030 and are reassured to see that the 911 is still dripping off the assembly line in Zuffenhausen. Although no longer with a naturally aspirated engine, it will have an electrically assisted biturbo power unit. In order to comply with certification regulations in some countries, the turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine is supported by an electric motor that powers the 911e exclusively electrically, even over short distances, although its actual purpose is to increase performance in the low rev range - and of course to optimize consumption. The lightweight construction issue has been taken care of in view of the required storage batteries and the e-motor. It will die with the current 992 series, in which it finds its last peak.
